I'm just looking thru some art mags to get some inspiration...
I have a question?
What is it with all the 'Dunce' caps
on people in so many many collage pieces?
I guess I'm not quite in the loop with that one?
Maybe I should try to draw one of my ladies with one on their head?
or maybe not.
Off to draw...or maybe even journal today.

AUGUST 5th...

WOW! could not resist the color in front of me!

Just got back from vacation...ahhh, very nice to get away, but I love getting back to my Studio.
Before I left I sent off about a dozen designs for a New Company that has licensed me to do cards for them! Can't wait to see them...had a great time working with them & a writer...very talented lady named...Nanette Stine. Thanks to her, this was Not a difficult venture.
I'm now working on some designs for another company...they will use my art to put thru a machine for crafters to cut...kinda like puzzles of my illustrations, for the paper cratfing industry.
Having a fun time! ...so lucky to get to be in my little sweet studio!

I have been oh so busy with designing my NEW CARDS that will be coming out... in I think the FALL...wanna 'SNEEK PEEK'? This company chose 11 of my designs to start with...I've been working on the card fronts, the insides & the envelopes!

JUNE 16th...

Well it's almost officially 'summer'? hmmm...it poured yesterday, don't think that qualifies as
a 'summer' day actually! So with the weather being what it is...I'm working in the studio about 8-9 hours a day & "loving" it! Just finished a new Bride series for our Shirleys2Girls Stamp company. I have also been working with some companies to license my illustrations...WHEE!
Today I'm gonna work on some illustrations that have to do with travel...ahhh doesn't that sound like a good idea?

We're back!

What a fabulous time! I think I just might have made a couple of 'deals'!
I think I see cards in my future...now that I am back in my studio...I am
so geared up to get things rolling. My mind is going a million miles a minute!
It seems that SURTEX was definately an inspiration to me...I came right on
out to the studio the day after I got home~and the ideas just started pouring
out. I'll throw a little sketch in now & then to keep you up on what I'm up to!

NEW YORK NEW YORK!

What a wonderful town! The Radisson's UP & Javits is DOWN...Today was the 2nd day of the SHOW...& I think it went 'fabulously'! Met lots of great people, more women than men, me thinks that the world is jam packed with a huge amount of 'strong & very interesting' women!
I'm feeling great about the response to my art, seems like the women out there are definately ready for more images with "Zoftig" Ladies. And I'm just the one to give 'em that!
My mind is going like crazy...I've got way too many ideas floating around in my head...(for new characters)...I actually can't wait to get back to the studio & get them down on paper...

My sister Kristine has been redoing my website & a few things (ok a lot)~that we're taking to the BIG APPLE...she'll also be my co-hort in crime at the show! Drop by and say Caio!
Things are kind of coming to a close here with ALL the work that I need to get done to take to SURTEX...ahhh, how nice.

BOOTH # 554

NEW YORK or BUST!

I'm heading to SURTEX...MAY 14-19! ( actually me & my sister Kristine) This will be my first time at this SHOW...I'm taking my illustrations/designs and I'm heading east! We've been working around the clock to try & get everything from my Booth to the Press Kits together. I'm excited to be sure, nervous a bit, but all in all thrilled to finally be going to this show! Stay tuned, I will be posting my progress right here.

It's COLD outside! I think it's about 20 degrees here right now...Brrrr...there just night be snow coming! Christmas tree is up & ready for the holidays...no ornaments this year, decided to keep it simple...just garlands & bows!

Working in the studio on some new images for S2G birthday bash...Feb...cakes, candles, gifts, confetti oh my!

I had never had a reason to draw mice before...or the desire...but a request last year lead to a series of cute, little, chubby mice that have been a hit with our 'stampers'.

There's a chill in the air...can it almost be that time again for Turkeys & Pumpkins? When I was out last week shopping...I saw Christmas stuff up...Actually, I saw it first right after Halloween....EEK!
Here at Shirleys2Girls... we are done with Holiday images...
and now I am moving on to things for February.
I'm seeing hearts...candy...
chocolates...love...
pink...great fancy ribbons...

Finally Summer is here! Now that it's here...can I have some rain?

I have been getting ready for CHA...that's a show in Florida in July.
This is a trade show for the Craft/Hobby show...we're going to go to
our 1st showing of Shirleys2Girls...our clear polymer stamps!
We hav come up with the cutest darn character...we call her...
MAZIE! Wish I could tell you more, but it's hush-hush!
She will be debuted at the show...with all her great sayings...
attitude...and color!
