This is a really FUN shot I got a couple of years ago around the holidays when we had SNOW...what a hoot! We don't get that fluffy white stuff often, so when we do, the whole town kind of shuts down. (Love that part...we get to...SLOW down for a bit) LET IT SNOW!
Could use a week of doing nothing...
CHRISTMAS RED... How can you go wrong with this fabulous POP of color for the season? Right now my kitchen and dining room are both RED...so I am always ready for the holidays. (My house is painted red too...guess I like the color!) Do yourself a favor...buy something RED to wear for 2012...be BOLD! STAND OUT!
Oh so chic...oh so so SOHO! I adore this uptown look of such sophistication! I want to live in a loft...in New York...well, maybe I'll settle for a Spring Fling in the Big Apple! Whatever your view...make it unique, make it special, make it FUN! HAPPY TUESDAY... on this 13th day of DECEMBER!
More angels...This one is my "CUPCAKE" angel...I think a calander is in the future...I just can't stop drawing them, I wonder what that means? Maybe I have a couple of 'angels' watching over me these days...(Mom & Dad). This is a hard time of year without them.Christmas is just not the same.No matter how old you get...having parents & family around at this time of year is best!
I have a series of 'party' dress wall hangings..that I'm going to putting up for sale on etsy...I have always loved fashion...but drawing dresses...ahhh, now that is FUN! Next week I'll be posting more of these, but I thought I'd give you a peek now at a couple...wouldn't these be great in a bathroom or dressing room?
Forget the traditional RED & GREEN...think pink, orange, purple...go wild...go over the egde...think exciting! Isn't this TREE spectacular? I just LOVE color...I mean if you're gonna get crazy with anything, why not your Christmas Tree? Next year, put aside your usual ornaments...pick 2 opposing colors...get some fun ribbons...lights and make it a new simple, but BOLD TREE! Have a fabulous saturday...may your shopping go well.
It's that time again...to POST something PINK. You know I've never been that great a lover of PINK until a couple of years ago, but for me it has to be HOT PINK...nothing to pale for me. I'm rather a Bold, sassy & wacky woman...so I need the BRIGHTS for everything I create. Funny thing is I don't wear any colors to speak of...Black & White for me only. I like to remain a blank canvas for fabulous accessories! Here's to BRIGHT & BOLD BLING! HAPPYPINK SATURDAY GIRLS!
For spring 2012 designers are inspired by diverse influences, showcasing a range of styles and lifestyles, from free and playful and light and breezy, to contemporary classics. Colors likewise reflect these differing moods, encapsulating vivid brights, soft muted tones and fun-loving pastels. "Consumers look to spring for renewed energy, optimism and the promise of a brighter day," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. "They have learned how color can help them alter a mood and provide the vitality and enthusiasm that enables them to experiment with new looks and color combinations." Provocative Tangerine Tango, an enticing juicy orange, is a vivacious and appealing refresher to enliven anyone's outlook this spring. Providing a jolt of energy, Solar Power radiates warmth and cheer. Fanciful Bellflower, a distinct ornamental purple, exudes uniqueness and creativity. Scintillating and sexy, Cabaret is a sensual and intense rosy-red —excellent choice for summer clothing and cosmetics.Sodalite Blue, a classic maritime hue, brings order and calmness to mind. Like an anchor to a ship, this dependable shade works with every color in the palette. Cockatoo, a tactile blue-green, is sure to make your spirits soar. This unusual hue adds a whimsical touch to the palette and will surely make a statement this spring.Margarita, a piquant yellow-green, lifts spirits with its refreshing and stimulating glow. Reminiscent of a blossoming garden on an early spring morning, fragrant Sweet Lilac evokes the fresh scents of summer. This delicate pinkish lilac adds a touch of romance to any wardrobe. Natural versatile neutrals add practicality to this season's brights. Driftwood, an adaptable blend of beige and gray with a slightly weathered feel, and Starfish, a perfect warm summer neutral, complement all colors featured in this season's top 10. For an ultra-bold vibrant look this spring, try mixing Bellflower with Tangerine Tango and Cabaret. Combine Margarita with Sweet Lilac and Cockatoo for a subtle alternative, or combine Margarita with Sweet Lilac and Driftwood for a more practical variation. Solar Power is best juxtaposed with Sodalite Blue. For a safer bet, add a natural neutral like Starfish to the mix. For over 18 years, Pantone, the global authority on color, has surveyed the designers of New York Fashion Week and beyond to bring you the season's most important color trends. This report previews the most prominent hues for spring 2012.
A BIKE TREE!!! Got any spare Bikes hanging around the house? Is this beautiful? Anything...absolutely anything can be used for a TREE for CHRISTMAS...just think outside the old box! If you do something different, please share... Have a great THURSDAY!!!
I've got angels on the brain...and I have to say I'm having fun drawing them...I have decided that for the next few weeks I'm just going to draw whatever calls to me...I feel like I haven't had time to explore or experiment for a few years. What better time than NOW! I've had a lot of 'frustration' going on lately. It seems that someone wants me to change the way I draw...and the medium in which I feel most comfortable with...it isn't that I can't do 'art' another way...but this is how I'm choosing to create these days. I do it for me...I have been drawing since I was oh so young...(3) and ya know this is where I get my 'joy' from. If someone likes what I create...great, if not that's ok too...it's a BIG world and there's lots of artists out there. I think since the ideas come out of this artist's head...it ought to be what she sees & how she sees it.
My thought for today is...BE YOURSELF! LIVE WITH INTENTION!
7th day of my sharing some FUN & WACKY pics of how to celebrate the upcoming holidays! This is one crazy way of looking at Christmas...My salute to LADY GAGA! yup you guessed right...it's a CHRISTMAS TREE made out of...BACON!!! Now have you seen everything? Probably not...I will share more in the next weeks...have a fabulous Wednesday!
CHRISTMAS with a sweet twist! If you're in doubt about what to make a wreath out of...go buy 2-3 bags of Marshmellows and go to town with the ole glue gun...isn't this FUN? I say think outside the box...
This month I'm posting ALL things CHRISTMAS...so for PINK SATURDAY...what better way to start this post that with this oh so FABULOUS PINK ornament wreath! I hope that this holiday season brings you all JOY & PEACE. To my ladies in PINK...have a wonderful weekend getting in the holiday' spirit!
2nd day of DECEMBER...Hope this inspires you to get creative this holiday season...try something new...instead of throwing out all those old books or even magazines...grab a bunch of them and create a one-of-a-kind BOOK TREE.
Got some extra books lying around? like some old encyclodepias? This is a great TREE for a family that is a lover of great literature!
Everyday for the month of December I'm going to post a picture to celebrate the upcoming holiday...CHRISTMAS!Today...DEC. 1st I give you a very unique take on the SYMBOL...Christmas Tree...let's call it...RECYCLE TREE!
MERRY CHRISTMAS...may the spirit be with you always.
I just can't quite get into things...I'm trying to create, but my sister's cat, Chagall is very ill and we're heading to the vet this afternoon to put him to sleep. Another animal leaving us this year...I wish we didn't get so attached to those 4 legged fur balls...but it's not gonna happen in the house. Since I've been in this home (2003) I've lost 5 animals...2 dogs, 3 cats, actually I don't like the word 'lost'...they died, no other way to say it. Life is so short with these little companions...I treasure every moment. I'm now down to 2 cats & Daddy's dog...a home is just not quite right without a lot of little pitter-patters...and meows. Take care of your fellow creatures...they are counting on you.
It is a cold & blustery day here in Portland...almost all the leaves are off the BIG maple tree...
never have I seen so many leaves! But the COLORS of this FALL have been gorgeous! The
reds are so brilliant that they almost hurt your eyes, and theyellows are just plain shocking. COLOR...I LOVE it!
Colors for 2012... Below is PANTONE'S prediction for the coming year...the word for the year is "PRESERVATION"...it is a reflection of our current economic & social climate. The overall desire to connect with our past.
