It's COLD outside! I think it's about 20 degrees here right now...Brrrr...there just night be snow coming! Christmas tree is up & ready for the holidays...no ornaments this year, decided to keep it simple...just garlands & bows!

There's a chill in the air...can it almost be that time again for Turkeys & Pumpkins? When I was out last week shopping...I saw Christmas stuff up...Actually, I saw it first right after Halloween....EEK!

and now I am moving on to things for February.

Finally Summer is here! Now that it's here...can I have some rain?

I have been getting ready for CHA...that's a show in Florida in July.
This is a trade show for the Craft/Hobby show...we're going to go to
our 1st showing of Shirleys2Girls...our clear polymer stamps!
We hav come up with the cutest darn character...we call her...
MAZIE! Wish I could tell you more, but it's hush-hush!
She will be debuted at the show...with all her great sayings...
attitude...and color!

BIRDS of a FEATHER...

I have never been into birds per say...but, I just got this vision in my head and it had to get out on paper...I love his fat little body and the one big eye...all the better to see my dear!

Man's Best Friend...

Yup...I've got DOGS on the brain...I have been drawing dogs, dogs and more dogs. Thought we needed more dogs in the stamp line...so I have been sketching, terriers, afgans, scotties...even mutts...and I think we have some rather whimsical and sweet new dogs for some stamps! It seems that the designers out there can't get enough of those 4 legged creatures...so my goal is to just give them what they want...Please meet 'Baguette'...

BUSY WEEK...

Actually the last 2 weeks have been crazy...getting all of our Design Team in order...for our company, Shirleys2Girls, in case you don't know the name? What a hoot and a blast it has been! Kristine & I can't believe the kind of women that are part of the 'stamping' world...generous, would be the best word to describe them...but also, creative, fun, a little crazy...and we love them! this year is going to be an unbelievable one...First off, we have President Obama...then we have Hilary Clinton as Sec of State...and then we have the sisters whose business S2G's, is going like crazy! Our minds are spinning so fast, somedays I feel like I need 3 or 4 of me, the ideas are coming so fast...not enough time! May I have a 48 hour day please? We are working on papers and embellishments...so exciting...

I'm off to bed for so much needed rest, although these days I find it hard to finally 'turn off' my mind...I'm having too much fun!

WEEKENDS!!!

Tis the time for movies and popcorn!!! Went to see 'Last Chance Harry'...with Dustin Hoffman & Emma Thompson, what a sweet, nice, adult love story(no car crashes or murders)...we can always use that!

I have been toying with what to use and how to make my DOLLS hair...experimenting, I never know where it might lead me! I am going to do some 'felting' tomorrow and that should be fun, never done that...I really want to get back to doing more watercolor sketches...I'm thinking of my travels in Venice and Florence...now that is a great place for me to start! If I can't find Italy inspiring then, I'm in trouble!

OKAY...i know it's that month of starting over, beginning anew, making promises, and all that Falderall...
well, this year i am not gonna do it!
what i will promise to do:
1. get out of bed everyday
2. put on new clean underwear

everyday
3. eat three meals a day
4. start making my bed everyday
5. be creative everyday
6. help one old person a day (oops, that's me...)
anyway...that's it i'm now going to go back to

making my DOLL... she is getting more fabulous

everyday ...and i'm having a ball!

SNOW AGAIN...

AHHH...I feel like a nap!
What is that 'fluffy white stuff ' falling from the sky again? This just doesn't happen here! But, I guess it's happening so I'm going with it...I must say it is beautiful, looks like every tree and shrub has been dusted with 'powdered sugar'...yummie!
I am now working on a whole new body for a DOLL...I have not been happy with the patterns that I have made so far from the DOLL magazines... SO...why don't I just make my own pattern? CRAZY...NUTS...but why not? I'll put a picture on soon, I'm on my 5th set of legs...not happy yet!

Okay it's time...

enough of this chocolate stuff! I'm going to blow up...or OUT might be a more appropriate way to put it...GEEZ! I worked on another Doll yesterday, and tomorrow I am going to redesign a whole new body! I was watching an animated movie and got an IDEA...so I am very energized to get the Newly remodeled Doll underway...I'll post some new pics of her when I get her going...for now I am posting a head or two of some of the other 'girls' I have 'under construction' and with that I will say have a Fabulous New Year...stay safe and I can't wait to get next year and all that awaits me! CHRISTMAS EVE...

what an absolutley wonderful day! no hustle, fuss, stress, all around just one great way to spend the day...
creating some, talking about old times, being with family, singing a bit, nibbeling on chocolate and ending the evening with a warm and cozy coffee drink!

BRRRR....

Another day of that "foreign" white stuff! And I do mean foreign...we here out WEST, don't see much of this stuff! When we do...it is a major life changer...basically we all hunker down in our cozy little houses and read a lot or watch movies or eat the rest of the Cookies, (because we couldn't have that D_ _ _ party we were supposed to have.) Don't get me wrong... I Love this gorgeous white stuff, but it isn't doing my hips any good!

I have been working on Doll heads today...I'm on my 4th one! I'm gonna get it right or I am going to go wacky! See the lady to the left? My lovely Tart in the Black & White...I have her out to inspire me (she is part of a series of my tribute to black & white, hats, and great fashion!) Back to those silly and irritating HEADS I go...

After all the 'cookie baking' these past fews days, I finally decided what to do with all of those shiny little accessories (in the kitchen) ...WEAR THEM ! If MARIE can do it, why not me...

NO more baking for the rest of the year...that is my promise!

COLETTE

I have just finished reading an Art Doll Quarterly. I almost completed my first Doll last year, but I put her on the back burner because I can't quite get the face right...I'm not the greatest with 3 dimensional art (in sculpture classes I couldn't get past everything looking like ashtrays, and I never even smoked...LOL)

But, this year I am determined to delve into the Doll making venture with great passion! I would love some feed back from any other Doll makers...I need your help and your input! As you can see from the photo of my 'Colette'...she is not quite there, but I thought I would debut her here today, also in the hope that some wonderful Doll maker or enthusiast will take pity on me and send me a missle with all their great wisdom on the world of Dolls...
