MONDAY BLUES

I just can't quite get into things...I'm trying to create, but my sister's cat, Chagall is very ill and we're heading to the vet this afternoon to put him to sleep. Another animal leaving us this year...I wish we didn't get so attached to those 4 legged fur balls...but it's not gonna happen in the house. Since I've been in this home (2003) I've lost 5 animals...2 dogs, 3 cats, actually I don't like the word 'lost'...they died, no other way to say it. Life is so short with these little companions...I treasure every moment. I'm now down to 2 cats & Daddy's dog...a home is just not quite right without a lot of little pitter-patters...and meows. Take care of your fellow creatures...they are counting on you.

PINK SATURDAY!

It is a cold & blustery day here in Portland...almost all the leaves are off the BIG maple tree...

never have I seen so many leaves! But the COLORS of this FALL have been gorgeous! The

reds are so brilliant that they almost hurt your eyes, and the yellows are just plain shocking. COLOR...I LOVE it!

Colors for 2012... Below is PANTONE'S prediction for the coming year...the word for the year is "PRESERVATION"...it is a reflection of our current economic & social climate. The overall desire to connect with our past.

Here is my entry for PINK SATURDAY & for the word PRESERVATION...

get an old pair of tennies & dye them HOT PINK & then go dance in a pile of leaves!

The last 2 weeks I've been busy designing

a Store Identity package for a client...

from a Logo to packaging.

Fun to get back into that kind of designing...

haven't worked on a logo in years.

The store is coming to downtown BEND, OR

...a hot little village in eastern Oregon.

WHERE IS MY MOJO?

Ever since getting back from vacation...I've lost my mojo.
Trying to figure out where it went...I've looked under my bed~no.
I looked in the pantry~no.
I even checked in my purse~no.
Where oh where can it be? I just can't imagine where that darn thing went?
Couldn't be that my 'creativity' has taken a 'holiday'...could it?
I think 2 weeks of sun and then coming back to rain, rain,
and more rain has something to do with my MOJO...
(did it stay for a few more much needed break in the sun?)
I bet that's it...I think I'll give it until Monday...
bet I'll find it when I go out to my studio
and put on my creative apron...
Let ya know how the search for my MOJO goes next week!

HERE COMES THE SUN!!!

It is time to take a much needed break...
gonna go in search of the BIG YELLOW ORB!
I have a house sitter & animal sitter...so I feel
that I truly can 'relax'...(I'm a little freaky about
my animals...they are after all my babies). Going to
be scouting the scenery out and soaking all the
surroundings in! I need some 'inspiration'...a change of
environment will do the trick! I adore reading...
so I think about a '12' or so books will do the trick...
also taking the game 'farkle'...nice & easy way to spend
an afternoon sipping margaritas and playing a fun game!

A NEW WEEK!

Well...tis Monday and I think I'm gonna go out and about
and get some much needed inspiration. See what the folks are doing
out in the big world. Sometimes I just need a 'jolt' of new things I haven't
seen to get me inspired...like paper stores, shoe stores, book stores,
art stores...actually driving around in a new neighborhood
is always fun and can be just the 'thing' I need to INSPIRE!

Today is gonna be nothing but being with friends...
laughing...eating...drinking...and watching a football game.
AND it's going to be 90 here today...our summer is
finally here, for a week they say?
Next week is gonna be a frenzy of designing, I'm working on
gift bags, banners, plaques...but today is for doing nothing.
